The People's Procuracy of District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, has finalized the indictment and transferred the case to the district court for trial. Tai faces charges of obstructing a law enforcement officer under Article 330, Clause 1 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 3 years in prison.
However, the procuracy acknowledged mitigating factors, including Tai's first-time offense, the less serious nature of the crime, his confession, and remorse.

According to the indictment, on the afternoon of 22/5, a traffic patrol team, including Captain Nguyen Thanh Quy and 2 colleagues, were conducting traffic control on Le Kha Phieu Street, Binh Chanh District.
Captain Quy signaled Tai to stop after noticing suspicious behavior. Tai initially pulled over, but realizing he didn't have a driver's license, he suddenly accelerated and fled.
Captain Quy grabbed Tai's left hand, but was dragged along, forcing him to cling to the back of the motorcycle. After about 100 meters, with Tai still refusing to stop, Captain Quy managed to sit on the seat and continued to order him to pull over. Tai finally stopped after another short distance.
The patrol team issued a citation, impounded the motorcycle, and took Tai to the Tan Kien Commune Police Station. Tai confessed to his actions during the investigation.
