Dong Nai police are holding a 35-year-old man from Bien Hoa ward for investigation on charges of resisting arrest. The incident occurred on 5/9.

Last week, police received reports of a man behaving erratically and brandishing a knife at people in the Buu Hoa 3 neighborhood. A police team from Bien Hoa ward, led by Senior Lieutenant Mai Xuan Son, responded to the scene.

Officers located the suspect on Hoa An bridge. He was holding a 40 cm knife. Police attempted to de-escalate the situation and confiscate the weapon. As Senior Lieutenant Son approached, the man stabbed him in the abdomen. The police team quickly subdued the attacker, seized the weapon, and took him into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
