Quynh Anh Commune Police announced on 10/6 that they are continuing to gather statements and consolidate the case file to address the incident.
The investigation began after the boy's 50-year-old maternal grandmother, visiting from Nghia Hung commune, discovered multiple bruises on her grandson's body on 8/6. The boy, who resides in Quynh Anh commune (formerly part of Quynh Luu district), told her his father had hit him. The grandmother promptly took her grandson to the hospital for treatment and reported the incident to local authorities.

During questioning by Quynh Anh Commune Police, the father, Nguyen Ba Dai, admitted to using a bamboo stick to discipline his son. Dai stated he considered the boy "naughty and difficult to discipline."
The boy is the son of Dai and his ex-wife. Following their divorce in 2018, his mother initially raised him. In 2023, Dai filed a petition, and the court subsequently granted him custody. The boy then moved in with his father and stepmother.
