On the afternoon of 15/7, dozens of Thanh Hoa provincial police officers, including mobile police, criminal investigators, and other units, were deployed to secure the area and search the home of Bui Quoc Y, located at 381A Quang Trung Street, Hac Thanh ward.

The 5-story white house, situated on the corner of Quang Trung Street and Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard, was cordoned off for 3-4 hours. It also houses the "Dat Y" real estate office.
Police announced that Y and several other suspects were summoned for questioning but have not disclosed the specific reasons. This action is part of an ongoing campaign to crack down on organized crime.
Y is identified as the "ringleader, with several close associates known to be hardened criminals".

Y is the younger brother of Bui Quoc Dat, also known as Dat "Ma," a notorious gang leader in Thanh Hoa currently serving a prison sentence.
The Dat and Y brothers, along with the gangs of Tuan "Than Den" and Vi "Ngo", divided territories and were considered leading figures in Thanh Hoa's underworld for many years. All have been arrested.
