Hung Yen Provincial Police announced on 4/5 the temporary detention of six individuals for property robbery: Pham Van Thuy (35), Nguyen Trong Huong (34), Nguyen Van Chung (36), Nguyen Trung Duc (35, residing in TP Hung Yen), Pham Duc Anh (21, from Son La), and Bui Van Duc (19, from Thanh Hoa).
Initial investigations revealed that Thuy's group arranged to purchase a large quantity of gold from a foreigner after connecting on social media. On the afternoon of 29/4, the seller arrived at a beverage shop in Ao village, Lac Dao commune, with one bar and three pieces of 9999 gold, weighing a total of 1,887 grams, for the transaction.

At the scene, after inspecting and confirming the gold was genuine, Thuy's group used a gas torch to melt all the gold. They then poured it into a pre-existing metal mold, forming a large gold bar, before robbing the seller. Following the crime, Thuy and Duc fled the area.
Upon receiving the report on the afternoon of 30/4, Lac Dao Commune Police, in coordination with Hung Yen Provincial Police's professional units, launched an investigation. They quickly identified the group of six suspects.
By dawn on 2/5, detectives simultaneously raided and arrested Thuy in Ha Noi, where he was hiding, and apprehended Duc in Ninh Binh province. The remaining individuals were subsequently arrested.
The case is currently under expanded investigation.
