On 18/6, Hong, residing in Ea Hiao commune, was charged with murder by the Gia Lai Provincial Police, who subsequently issued a special arrest warrant for him.

According to the investigation, four days earlier, Tang A Si, 38, was drinking with Hong and another man in a forest hut located in Ia Rbol commune, Gia Lai province.

As one person from the group returned to his own hut to rest, he heard a gunshot. Upon checking, he discovered Si had died from a wound believed to be caused by a homemade gun.

Police deployed hundreds of officers and soldiers, along with drones, to search for the suspect, who is currently hiding in the forest bordering Gia Lai and Dak Lak. The manhunt faces challenges due to the vast, rugged terrain and dense jungle. The suspect is known to be a frequent forest-goer, making him familiar with the area.

According to police, after fleeing, Hong was seen wearing a brown baseball cap, military-style camouflage clothing, and a face mask. He was not carrying a gun and was walking towards the gold panning area in sub-area 1288.

Authorities are urging residents working in the gold panning area, cogon grass hills, and sub-area 1288 to report any suspicious individuals who might be Hong.
