The incident, detailed in a TikTok video posted by Tyler on 15/6, quickly garnered over 18 million views. Tyler explained that the event occurred last weekend during a road trip from Florida to Oklahoma, when he stopped at a QuikTrip convenience store in Alabama for his daughters to use the restroom.
Tyler chose the women's restroom, which was empty, over the men's. In his video caption, he stated, "I'd rather do that than take two little girls into a men's restroom full of adult men and dirty stalls."
The situation escalated when a male customer confronted Tyler. The customer's wife and mother-in-law had reported a man in the women's restroom. Tyler recounted that the man then "rushed in yelling," demanding he leave, even as they were still inside a stall.
The video footage shows the man arguing with Tyler and contacting police while Tyler assisted his daughters with handwashing. The customer was heard complaining, "There's a man with two little girls using the women's restroom. He's washing hands with his children right now."
Tyler began recording the event on his phone. He explained, "He was quite aggressive, so I didn't know what would happen. I just wanted to record the entire incident to ensure my safety and my children's."

Tyler's daughters cried due to the customer's behavior. A QuikTrip employee intervened, closing the door and apologizing to Tyler and his children.
The customer argued that Tyler should have asked a female QuikTrip employee to accompany the children, asserting that a father "had no right" to be in the women's restroom.
In a follow-up TikTok video on 16/6, Tyler reported that three police officers responded to the scene and confirmed he had committed no wrongdoing. Tyler added, "Taking two little girls into a men's restroom could be viewed negatively, just like me taking them into a women's restroom."
Tyler noted that the officers instructed the customer to leave the store and then spoke with his daughters to ensure their safety. He remarked, "They created a good image of police in my children's eyes as they grow up." Additionally, QuikTrip staff kindly offered the children free ice cream.
According to Tyler, the online response revealed that many parents and caregivers have encountered similar situations, with him receiving thousands of messages sharing their experiences. Tyler suggested that fathers with young daughters might consider using women's restrooms after informing other female patrons and staff.
