Dong Nai police criminally detained Nguyen Van Duong, 43, on 12/12. He is being investigated for murder, five days after he allegedly used an air gun to fatally shoot a woman who opened her door in the province.

Initial investigations revealed that four months ago, Duong purchased a gun and ammunition online via social media. This acquisition followed a conflict with Tran Thi Xuan Trang, 53, who resided in An Loc ward.

Late on 6/12, Duong shot and shattered a glass door. Trang, upon opening the door, was struck in the neck by a bullet and died five days later.

Upon Duong's arrest, detectives seized a compressed air gun firing lead pellets, which contained five pellets in its magazine, along with 592 additional lead pellets and other evidence.
