Dak Lak provincial police arrested Ma Kien La, a resident of Krong Nang commune, on 12/9 and temporarily detained him for 4 months on charges of murder.
According to the investigation, La and the 30-year-old woman, originally from Quang Ngai province, had lived together as husband and wife for over one year. During their cohabitation, they frequently had conflicts. On 28/8, following an argument, the woman left to stay at her older sister's home in Ea Drang commune.
At the investigating agency, La confessed that on the afternoon of 3/9, he found his partner and repeatedly apologized and pleaded to reconcile, but she refused. He then went to the kitchen, took a pair of scissors, and used them to attack her.
Upon witnessing the incident, the victim's 12-year-old son ran out screaming for help. La then attacked the boy with the scissors, causing injuries. The boy subsequently ran into a bedroom, locked the door, and escaped harm.
After committing the crime, La left the scissors at the scene and then surrendered to the police.
