Thai actress sexually assaulted while awaiting emergency care

Actress Christine Gulasatree Michalsky, 30, has accused a rescue worker of sexual assault while she was in a weakened state, waiting for emergency care at her home.

The incident occurred at Christine's apartment in Bangkok in the early morning of 31/3. She experienced shortness of breath and a panic attack after an allergic reaction to medication overdose, which left her dizzy and unable to move. Christine stated she remained conscious throughout the events, remembering them clearly, but lacked the strength to resist.

Christine recounted that a male rescue worker arrived to assist but acted inappropriately, partially undressing her while she lay on the bed. She also expressed concern that he might have taken sensitive photos, though she could not confirm this.

“I cannot believe someone whose mission is to save lives would do this,” Christine told media after more than four hours of questioning at Khlong Tan police station on 1/4. She reported the incident to police immediately after receiving medical treatment, without showering, and underwent a forensic examination at a police hospital, handing over the pajamas she wore.

Police confirmed that surveillance camera data from the apartment building showed the suspect was the first to arrive, entering the actress's room at 3:39, accompanied by a security guard. The suspect was left alone with Christine at one point after the security guard went downstairs to meet other police officers and rescue personnel. Investigators believe the crime occurred during this window.

The Southern Bangkok Criminal Court approved an arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as Nikorn, 43. He faces charges of committing indecent acts with a person over 15 by coercion, given the victim's inability to resist.

On 2/4, Police Colonel Phisit Meewiriyakul, Chief of Khlong Tan Police Station, stated that Nikorn confessed to indecent acts and taking sensitive photos of the actress. He claimed not to have shared the images and deleted them after learning Christine reported the incident. Nikorn will undergo further interrogation before being remanded at the Southern Bangkok Criminal Court on 3/4.

Reports indicate Nikorn is a former volunteer rescue worker from another area, still active in an emergency alert group on the Line application. Christine stated she has no intention of seeking financial compensation and is determined to pursue the case to its conclusion. She urged authorities to address legal loopholes and demand higher accountability, while emphasizing that not all rescue workers should be judged based on the actions of one individual.
