According to the investigation, a couple led this group. They rented the hotel for 315 million VND per month for accommodation and to set up machinery for illegal activities. All equipment was brought from Cambodia to Vietnam.
The group's leader stated that they previously managed a "dormitory" for a company operating in Cambodia. Recently, this individual was assigned to Vietnam to rent a location, organize accommodation for the group, and install the machinery.
Ho Chi Minh City Police discovered the group shortly after they entered Vietnam in early May and were in the process of installing the equipment.
Among those arrested, 17 confessed to having entered Vietnam illegally by small boat across a river and traveling by motorbike along trails and open paths in the border area. After entering Vietnam, "managers" confiscated their passports and took them directly to the hotel.
