The altercation stemmed from an online disagreement. At the police station, a male student involved explained that he had posted a photo of his classmates on TikTok. A student from Tan Loi school then left a mocking and provocative comment. Angered by this, the student's classmates formed a group and arranged to meet the other group to "settle" the issue.

On the evening of 23/3, the two groups, armed with bricks, stones, and sticks, converged at alley 25 Mai Thi Luu street. Both sides immediately engaged in a brawl, chasing each other. The confrontation lasted only a few minutes, alarming nearby residents.

That same night, Ea Kao Ward Police launched an investigation, identifying all students involved in the incident.
