Nguyen Cao Bang, 45, was arrested on the morning of 20/5 in connection with the murder of three people, according to a leader from Hau Thanh communal people's committee. Bang, who resides in Nguyen Rot hamlet, is being investigated for murder.

Local authorities reported that Bang had lived in the area and known the 41-year-old woman for years, but her family disapproved of their relationship. The couple had recently experienced frequent disputes.

The incident occurred around 6 pm on 20/5, when Bang, intoxicated, arrived at his girlfriend's home in Huynh Tho hamlet and started an argument. He then used a knife to fatally attack his 41-year-old girlfriend and her 70-year-old mother. The woman's 22-year-old son was also severely injured in the attack and died despite being rushed to the emergency room.

After the attacks, the perpetrator discarded the knife and fled the scene.

Authorities, suspecting the attacker might flee across the Cambodian border, issued alerts to nearby localities. Residents were urged to remain vigilant, not offer shelter or vehicles to strangers, and to report any sightings of the suspect to local authorities immediately.

Bang was apprehended by police around 11 pm, approximately two kilometers from the crime scene, as he attempted to discard his vehicle and evade capture.
