Woman arrested for assaulting two railway barrier staff

Pham Thi Hong Phuc, 37, was arrested after she and her daughter used helmets to assault two female barrier staff while a train was running.

On 8/4, Thanh Khe Ward Police announced the arrest of Pham Thi Hong Phuc, a resident of Thanh Khe ward, on charges of public disturbance.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on 6/4, when railway staff Truong Thi Diep Thuy and Nguyen Thi Mong Tuyen were closing a barrier in the Thanh Khe area. Phuc, driving a motorbike from the beach towards her home located directly behind the barrier house, attempted to cross the closed barrier.

According to authorities, Phuc deliberately tried to pass but was stopped by the two employees to ensure train safety. Phuc refused to comply and argued. After the train passed, Phuc and her 18-year-old daughter, Nguyen Pham Hong Quynh, returned to the barrier house and used helmets to attack the two female staff. Despite intervention from nearby residents, the mother and daughter continued the assault, causing chaos in the area.

As a result, Thuy and Tuyen sustained injuries and were taken to Da Nang General Hospital for emergency treatment. The hospital confirmed that both patients suffered concussions and are currently receiving treatment in the Neurosurgery Department.

Thanh Khe Ward Police later verified the incident and detained Phuc. As Nguyen Pham Hong Quynh is pregnant, police are continuing to consolidate the case file for her separate processing.
