According to the investigation, the incident took place between 2 AM and 4 AM on 26/5. Seven individuals, part of a group led by Nguyen Duc Anh Tung, rode three motorbikes at high speeds, overtaking, swerving, and revving their engines on National Highway 1. The race traversed Thach Binh hamlet in Cam Binh commune, an area formerly part of Cam Xuyen district.
At Km 516, Nguyen Dang Van Anh, 16, a resident of Tran Phu ward, lost control of his motorbike. He crashed into the median strip, dying at the scene. Tran Cong Manh sustained injuries and was taken to Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment. The motorbike involved in the crash was severely damaged.
In late September, after a thorough investigation, police charged the seven suspects. Authorities are continuing to clarify the roles of all individuals involved to ensure appropriate legal action.
