In early September, Brida Brando, 31, of Los Angeles, saw her boyfriend seek her mother's permission to propose. He planned to pop the question immediately after the conversation, taking advantage of a family gathering. Only Brando's mother and sister were aware of the plan.

Brando realized what was happening when her 6-year-old niece brought the ring box to her boyfriend. Simultaneously, her aunt, seated on the sofa, noticed she was in the frame of the proposal video. Not wanting to spoil the moment for her niece, she quickly tried to move out of the camera's view.

However, the aunt's awkward attempts to hide drew attention. Brando's grandmother, standing behind her, urged her daughter, "Get out of there!"

Brando stated she was so overwhelmed by the proposal that she was unaware of her aunt's attempts to hide right beside her. The family only discovered the incident when they watched the video back. "We all burst into laughter because my aunt's reaction was completely natural," Brando said.

The family later teased her, saying the more she tried to disappear, the more unforgettable she became. Brando joked, "Now my aunt will live forever in this video."

The family posted the video on TikTok on 9/9, where it garnered over 1.6 million views and thousands of comments.

For Brando, this unintentional appearance held special significance. Her aunt was present at her birth and helped raise her. The proposal also continued a family tradition, as both her mother and grandmother were proposed to during large family gatherings.
