Bill Nguyen Bonsai Garden safeguards decades-old bonsai and culturally significant Vietnamese tree species. A representative explains that trees are integral to both Vietnam's natural environment and its cultural identity, evoking familiar images of banyan trees, bamboo groves, starfruit trees, and laurel bushes. Yet, many of these species are becoming rare in modern life.

Beyond cultivation, Bill Nguyen Bonsai Garden aims to preserve memories, creating a living "tree museum." The garden boasts a diverse collection, from mature banyan, fig, and mulberry trees from northern Vietnam, to starfruit, ashoka, and diospyros trees from the central region, and tamarind, star apple, ironwood, and dipterocarpus trees from the south. It also features unique specimens like the ficus tree with its intricate root system, symbolizing enduring strength, and the ashoka tree, whose blossoms represent the philosophy of letting go.
