Parents drive 130 km before realizing child left at gas station

A couple drove over 130 km, believing their 6-year-old daughter was in another relative's car, only to discover they had forgotten her at a gas station.

The incident occurred on 14/4 after the family concluded a beach trip in Cha-am, Phetchaburi province. On their way home, they stopped at a gas station for a restroom break. According to Thaiger, the 6-year-old girl emerged from the restroom to find no relatives.

The incident stemmed from the large family traveling in three cars: two pickup trucks and one passenger car, reported 77kaoded. Family members were convinced the girl was in one of the other two vehicles, so they continued their journey to Kanchanaburi province, 130 km away.

At the gas station, after using the restroom and not finding her family, the girl proactively sought help from a gas station attendant. The attendant immediately reported the situation to local police.

Khao Din Police Station in Ratchaburi province faced difficulty contacting the family because the girl did not remember their phone number. Utilizing the civil registration system, police identified the parents and contacted the father, who was in Bangkok. The father then contacted relatives, who were already on their way back to pick up the child.

Despite initial fright, the child was cared for by police until her family arrived.

On 15/4, Khao Din Police Station shared the story on social media, stating their unit is always "ready to assist citizens in emergency situations."
