From 6-9/11, typhoon Kalmaegi made landfall in many provinces across the Central region and Central Highlands, destroying 333 homes. Gia Lai province saw 206 homes damaged, and Dak Lak province 118. More than 32,000 other households experienced damage or roof removal. Gia Lai suffered the most severe damage with nearly 24,700 homes affected, while Dak Lak had nearly 6,000 damaged homes.
Large waves sank or damaged 96 boats and ships. Over 54,300 aquaculture cages and rafts, along with 18 hectares of shrimp and fish farms, were damaged, primarily in Dak Lak. Nearly 3,800 hectares of rice and other crops, 7,400 hectares of other plants, were broken or toppled, and 4,500 poultry died. Prior to this, residents in the Central region also endured typhoons number 11 and 12.
In response to this situation, Hirofumi Shiramatsu, general director of Rohto-Mentholatum (Vietnam), directed all employees to promptly implement support activities. This initiative showcased a spirit of solidarity and compassion for people impacted by the natural disaster.

According to a company representative, with successive storms and floods, many areas became isolated, leaving numerous residents to lose their homes and assets entirely. Amidst these difficulties, the community needed collective support to bring warmth and hope.
To this end, Rohto-Mentholatum (Vietnam) gathered 20,000 healthcare products, valued at over 1,35 billion VND, from its factory in the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP). Additionally, 100 million VND in cash was contributed from employee donations and the company's support fund. These contributions aim to help prevent post-disaster disease outbreaks such as conjunctivitis, dengue fever, and dermatitis.
Both goods and cash were delivered to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh City on 12/11, providing timely assistance to the affected residents.
