Toshiba air conditioners integrate IoT technology for the first time

Standard Toshiba inverter - P2 series and mid-range inverter - F2 series air conditioners, newly launched this year, can all be controlled via the TSmartLife application.

TSmartLife is a smart application exclusively for the Toshiba home appliance ecosystem, helping to connect, manage, and control devices remotely. Depending on the home appliance product line, the application can provide real-time monitoring, send error notifications, schedule operations, and share control with family members. Specifically for air conditioners, the TSmartLife application currently allows users to remotely turn them on or off, adjust temperature, and fan mode according to different sleep stages.

The ability to turn air conditioners on or off even when not at home offers users significant convenience. Minh Van from Tan Thuan ward, TP HCM, shared an experience where she arrived at work only to remember she had forgotten to turn off her air conditioner at home. With the TSmartLife application, she easily turned off the device, alleviating concerns about wasted electricity or fire safety. Similarly, Nguyen Hoang frequently uses the TSmartLife app to pre-start his Toshiba inverter F2 series 2.0 HP air conditioner before arriving home, eliminating the waiting time for the unit to cool the space, unlike with his old air conditioner.

Notably, with its feature for adjusting temperature and fan mode across different sleep stages, the TSmartLife application helps enhance user sleep quality.

Many air conditioner users have experienced waking up in the middle of the night feeling too cold. Initially, the heat prompts many to set a low temperature, but as time passes, the room becomes progressively colder. This excessively cold environment can lead to conditions like rhinitis and sore throats for users. Conversely, some individuals, fearing the cold, set inappropriate temperatures, resulting in them feeling hot and experiencing interrupted sleep.

Understanding consumer psychology, Toshiba introduced the sleep curve feature on the TSmartLife application, enabling users to manage their room temperature for up to 8 hours. Specifically, Toshiba inverter F2 and P2 series air conditioners will automatically adjust to the temperature and fan speed settings configured by the user on the application. This ensures an appropriate sleeping temperature, promoting deeper sleep and safeguarding user health.

By integrating IoT technology, controlled via the TSmartLife app, into its air conditioner products, Toshiba consistently elevates the living experience for its customers. A Toshiba representative stated that Toshiba product lines, and air conditioners in particular, are not only durable over time but also continuously updated with modern technologies, keeping pace with technological development trends.

With TSmartLife integration, the inverter P2 series and F2 series air conditioners become a component of Toshiba's home appliance ecosystem, allowing unified control through a single application. Additionally, TSmartLife enables sharing control of Toshiba devices among multiple family members.

Beyond Japanese quality standards and durable, stable operation, Toshiba air conditioners are continuously updated with modern technologies to enhance user experience, making them a product many consumers deem worth purchasing.

To download the TSmartLife application, phones require an operating system of iOS 16.4 or later, and Android 5.0 or later. Some older versions of TSmartLife might accept lower iOS operating systems.
