In 4/2025, Zhong, residing in Qingdao city, Shandong province, noticed his wife was often out and difficult to reach. Checking her phone, he found she had sent a photo of their youngest son to a stranger, accompanied by messages mentioning "taking him in" and "paying tuition fees."
Zhong took his three-year-old youngest son for a DNA test. When she learned of her husband's actions, the wife made numerous phone calls, but Zhong did not answer.
The test results showed the child was not biologically related to him.
Zhong then tested his 10-year-old son and eight-year-old daughter. The results confirmed that the eldest son was also not his biological child, with only the second child, the daughter, being his biological child.

Recounting the incident on Henan Television on 2/5, Zhong expressed disappointment that his efforts of more than 10 years to support his family had been in vain. He and his wife met in 2014. After two months of dating, she announced her pregnancy, leading to their marriage. The three children were born in 2015, 2017, and 2022.
Over more than 10 years of living together, Zhong, a delivery driver, said he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. The revelation that he was raising another man's children devastated him. Currently, his wife has taken their first and third sons, leaving only the daughter with him.
Zhong's lawyer stated that his wife's concealment of the biological relationship constituted "custody fraud." Zhong has authorized his lawyer to file for divorce under China's Civil Code. He is demanding his wife reimburse living, education, and medical expenses for the two boys over the past 10 years, and provide compensation for emotional distress.
Local television reporters contacted the wife, but she refused to comment.
