30-meter concrete pump boom collapses, construction worker dies

A concrete pump boom, nearly 30 meters long, collapsed during house repair work in Bong Son ward, killing one construction worker and injuring two others on the morning of 20/5.

Around 5h, a concrete pump truck was parked on Bien Cuong street, preparing to pour concrete for the ceiling of a house under construction. During operation, the pump boom, at a height of about 10 meters, suddenly broke and collapsed, striking three workers below.

The victims were rushed to Bong Son Regional General Hospital. However, a 46-year-old male construction worker died, while the two others sustained injuries.

Police are currently investigating the incident.
