According to initial information, on the afternoon of 25/5, the mother, residing in Kim Hoa hamlet, Bich Hao commune, placed her 6-month-old son on the bed to sleep, covered him with a mosquito net, and then went to the kitchen to cook.
Minutes later, she heard a loud noise and rushed into the room. She discovered a section of plaster had detached from the ceiling, falling onto the bed and the mosquito net, precisely where the baby was sleeping. Numerous fragments of plaster and concrete had fallen onto the child.
The baby sustained severe injuries to his abdomen and legs. The family rushed the child to the hospital for emergency treatment, but he did not survive.

The room where the incident occurred measures approximately 10 square meters and is over 3 meters high, with a concrete ceiling and tiled floor. At the scene, plaster fragments, measuring 10-30 cm, were scattered across the floor. Some pieces were over 40 cm thick, with sharp edges and covered in fine dust.
According to the Bich Hao commune leader, this was likely an accidental incident caused by the plaster layer not adhering properly to the concrete surface, leading to its detachment and fall.
The baby boy was the first child in the family. The single-story Thai-style roof house was built and put into use about 2 years ago, with no prior reports of leaks or dampness.
