Around 10:40, a large branch of the mahogany tree in front of Ninh Thuan Hotel snapped, falling onto the street. It struck a 44-year-old man riding a motorbike. The branch also hit power lines, causing a fire.

Nearby residents quickly called for help and notified authorities. After over 5 minutes of cutting, rescuers freed the victim, who was then transported for emergency medical care in serious condition.

According to a witness, traffic was light on 21 Thang 8 Street at the time of the incident. The mahogany tree, over 20 m tall with a wide canopy and a base requiring five people to hug, had stood on this road for many years.

At the scene, the victim's motorbike was severely damaged. A leader from the Phan Rang Ward People's Committee stated that authorities cordoned off the area, removed the branch, and redirected traffic to ensure safety. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

Over the past week, the Ninh Thuan area experienced rain, but this morning the sun returned.
