Police break open cabin, rescue trapped driver after accident on Khanh Le Pass

Police use specialized equipment to break open cabin, rescue trapped driver after container truck overturns on Khanh Le Pass, Nam Khanh Vinh commune, on the morning of 22/7.

Around 4h, Hoang Duy Dao, 37, was driving a container truck from Lam Dong with one co-driver on National Highway 27C, heading from Lam Dong to Ha Noi City. The vehicle overturned upon reaching a bend in Son Thai village, Nam Khanh Vinh commune.

The deformed cabin trapped the driver inside. The co-driver managed to escape, calling for local help and reporting the incident to authorities.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Police mobilized dozens of officers and specialized vehicles to the scene. Rescue forces used ropes, cutting machines, spreaders, and hydraulic jacks to dismantle the deformed cabin components to reach the victim.

After more than 30 minutes, the driver was extracted and transported to the hospital for emergency treatment. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Khanh Le Pass, 33 km long, is part of National Highway 27C, which spans 121 km. This vital route connects Da Lat with Nha Trang, and tourist buses frequently use it.
