Around 2 PM on 2/10, Ngo Cong Hop and Nguyen Thi Hoa, residents of Van An commune (formerly Nam Dan district), were traveling in a small wooden boat on the Lam River. About 400 meters from Ro Bridge in Kim Bang commune, their boat unexpectedly overturned, causing both to fall into the river and be swept away by the current.

Local residents who witnessed the incident immediately raised an alarm and notified authorities. Rescue teams, alongside locals, launched boats to search for Ngo Cong Hop and Nguyen Thi Hoa on the river. They also scoured the riverbanks, but strong currents made the search challenging.
After 5 PM, rescue forces recovered the sunken boat, but the two victims have not yet been found. Search efforts are expected to continue throughout the night.
The section of the Lam River passing Ro Bridge is over 200 meters wide, with an average depth of 4 to 8 meters, reaching nearly 15 meters in some areas. Near the banks, the depth is one to two meters.
