The Ministry of Construction recently approved the detailed master plan adjustment for Phu Quoc International Airport, covering the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050. This plan designates approximately 51 hectares south of the airport, specifically south of the VIP and general aviation area, for hotels, commercial, and service facilities. This area will also house rental offices and airline operational centers.
The updated plan also incorporates approximately 12,6 hectares for aviation training facilities within the reserve land area north of the airport. This specific category was not part of the master plan approved in 2025.
Alongside these service areas, the adjusted master plan significantly increases aircraft parking positions. The area in front of terminal T2 and the existing apron will accommodate approximately 42 positions by 2030, representing an increase of 12 positions compared to the previous plan. Furthermore, a new apron with approximately 45 positions is added between terminal T1 and the VIP guest house and general aviation area.
These modifications enhance the airport's capacity to handle aircraft, effectively meeting operational demands as passenger traffic and flight frequencies continue to grow.

The aircraft repair and maintenance workshop area in the north expands from 24,7 to 30,4 hectares, increasing by 5,7 hectares, which is approximately 23% larger than the previous plan.
The fuel supply facility moves from the southeast to the north of the airport, concurrently increasing its area from approximately 6,3 to 7,2 hectares.
The aviation catering plant, previously situated on a 2-hectare plot south of the airport, relocates to the southeast of terminal T2, placing it closer to the passenger service area and the new apron.

In summary, the adjustments encompass aprons and essential flight operation facilities such as repair, maintenance, fuel supply, and catering, alongside land designated for commercial activities, accommodation, and human resource training.
This master plan adjustment is being fast-tracked as the Phu Quoc International Airport expansion project accelerates to prepare for the APEC Senior Officials' Week 2027.
