Bui Thi Quynh Van reappointed as Quang Ngai party chief

Bui Thi Quynh Van, 51, has been reappointed by the Politburo as the party secretary of Quang Ngai province for the 2025-2030 term.

The Politburo's decision to appoint Van to the Quang Ngai provincial party committee and standing committee for the 2025-2030 term was announced by Dinh Thi Hong Minh, deputy secretary of the Quang Ngai provincial party committee, at the provincial party congress on the morning of 11/9.

The Quang Ngai provincial party committee for the 2025-2030 term consists of 68 members, with a 17-member standing committee. Van will continue to lead the Quang Ngai provincial party in the next term. The deputy secretaries of Quang Ngai province are: U Huan, 45, permanent deputy secretary; Nguyen Hoang Giang, 54, chairman of the provincial people's committee; Nguyen Duc Tuy, 52; and Dinh Thi Hong Minh, 55.

Van, 51, a native of Quang Ngai, holds a master's degree in literary theory. She has served as the secretary of the Quang Ngai provincial youth union, secretary of the Tu Nghia district party committee, head of the Quang Ngai provincial party committee's mass mobilization commission and secretary of the Ly Son district party committee, chairwoman of the Quang Ngai provincial people's council, and deputy secretary of the Quang Ngai provincial party committee.

In 8/2020, the Politburo approved Van as the party secretary of Quang Ngai for the 2015-2020 term. In 10/2020, at the Quang Ngai provincial party congress for the 2020-2025 term, she was re-elected as party secretary. From 7/1, after the merger with Kon Tum, Van was appointed by the Politburo to lead the new Quang Ngai province.
