The 2.36 km long and 20 m wide bridge has 4 lanes, with the main spans expanding to 23.5 m. While a technical opening was planned for 2/9, the access roads remain unfinished.
From Thanh Hoa to Lam Dong, there are many lagoon-crossing bridges, such as the 750 m Gianh bridge in Quang Tri, the 1.8 km Cua Dai bridge, and the 320 m Nam O bridge in Da Nang. The Thuan An bridge is the longest among them.

Residents from both sides of the bridge in Thuan An ward are already enjoying walks and bike rides across the new structure.
A storm in 1904 caused the Thuan An estuary to widen, dividing Thai Duong Ha village in two. After over 121 years, the residents separated by the Thuan An estuary are now reconnected by this bridge.

In addition to the Thuan An lagoon-crossing bridge, the contractor is also focusing on the first phase of the coastal road, which starts at the Tam Giang bridge intersection and ends at the National Highway 49A-49B intersection. Pictured is the coastal road running along Thai Duong Thuong village, passing through a cemetery.
The completed Thuan An lagoon-crossing bridge will contribute to a coastal tourism route, connecting seamlessly with the national coastal highway. This project will facilitate north-south transportation, enhancing connections to seaports, economic zones, and key industrial areas along the central coast.
In the future, the bridge and coastal road are expected to open up approximately 1,500 ha of coastal land for urban development. This will attract investors and businesses to develop tourism infrastructure, services, resorts, and other socio-economic projects. Video: Vo Thanh
