On the morning of 24/9, Nguyen Trong Dong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, chaired a conference to announce and present decisions from the Party Central Committee Secretariat and the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Board regarding personnel matters.

Accordingly, the Party Central Committee Secretariat decided to assign and appoint Le Cong Thanh, a member of the Party Committee Standing Board and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, as assistant to Tran Duc Thang, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

The conference also announced decisions from the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Board concerning personnel in several communes, including Quoc Oai, Hat Mon, and Kieu Phu.

Congratulating the individuals entrusted with new responsibilities by the Party Central Committee Secretariat and the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Board, Nguyen Trong Dong stated that Hanoi is entering a new development phase. This phase brings high demands, a large volume of work, and many new, difficult, and unprecedented tasks.

In this context, Dong emphasized that personnel work must be proactive. The requirement is not only to ensure sufficient staff but, more importantly, to assign the right people to the right jobs, fostering their capabilities and ensuring accountability through specific results.

Dong urged Le Cong Thanh to quickly familiarize himself with the capital's situation, the Party Committee's work program, and the key tasks of the Party Committee Secretary. He also encouraged Thanh to leverage his experience from various previous positions to enhance the quality of advisory work.

Speaking on behalf of those taking on new roles, Le Cong Thanh affirmed his commitment to working with the leaders, officials, civil servants, and employees of the Party Committee Office. He pledged to maintain solidarity and unity, coordinate closely with agencies and units, and contribute to improving the quality of advisory work to meet the demands of the Hanoi Party Committee Secretary.

Le Cong Thanh, 61 years old, is from Quang Ngai province and holds a master's degree in meteorology. Before his appointment as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment (previously the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), he held numerous positions within the hydro-meteorological sector. These included Director of the Central Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Center, Deputy Director of the National Hydro-Meteorological Center concurrently Director of the Central Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Center, Deputy Director of the Department of Hydro-Meteorology, Director General of the Department of Hydro-Meteorology and Climate Change, Director General of the National Hydro-Meteorological Center, and Acting Director General of the General Department of Hydro-Meteorology.
