Currently, Dong Hoi Airport is exceeding its design capacity by over 50%, handling approximately 500,000 passengers annually. Daily, the airport manages nearly 10 round-trip flights connecting Dong Hoi with Hanoi and TP HCM.

The Airport Corporation of Vietnam is undertaking a significant project to construct the T2 passenger terminal and expand the apron at Dong Hoi Airport. This project, which commenced on 19/4/2025, is expected to be completed in Q4/2026, with a total investment exceeding 1,750 billion VND. Once operational, the T2 terminal will enable the airport to serve 3 million passengers annually, and the apron will expand to 8 positions, an increase of 4 from its current capacity.
