Currently, interchange 319 only has a branch towards Nhon Trach, which was invested in under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model and has been operating since 2021 with a cost of nearly 1,000 billion VND. The branch towards Long Thanh has not yet been built. While the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway expansion project is underway, it doesn't include completing this interchange.
According to Dong Nai provincial authorities, the construction of the interchange will facilitate connections to the Long Thanh High-Tech Industrial Park (410 hectares, with phase one covering 120 hectares). The park has already attracted 20 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total capital of approximately 400 million USD.

Five investors have been operating since early 2025; eight have signed land lease agreements and are expected to start construction by the end of 2025; and seven are completing procedures, with construction expected to begin in 2026. The project is expected to create jobs for about 20,000 workers by 2026.
The 55-km, four-lane Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, with two emergency lanes, has been operating since 2015. It currently serves 60,000-70,000 vehicles daily and is often overloaded on weekends and holidays.
The nearly 22-km expansion project from Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 2 to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is being implemented as an emergency project, with a total investment of over 16,300 billion VND. It is expected to be substantially completed in 2026, with the Long Thanh Bridge finished in Quarter I/2027.
Adding interchange 319 to the expansion project will help reduce traffic congestion at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City and improve connectivity to Long Thanh Airport, which is expected to begin operations in 2026.
