The upgrades will target national highways 1A, connecting to Ho Chi Minh City, national highway 20, leading to Da Lat, and national highway 56. Construction for these routes is slated to begin in Q3/2026. National highway 51, linking Bien Hoa and Vung Tau, is currently undergoing repairs and is expected to be completed next month. These roads are vital arteries but have deteriorated, posing significant traffic safety risks.
The total renovation cost is estimated at 760 billion VND, marking the largest repair effort in years. Construction will involve barricading and completing one section at a time, prioritizing night hours and off-peak periods to minimize traffic congestion.
