Dump truck and tractor-trailer carrying cashews catch fire after collision

A collision between a dump truck and a tractor-trailer carrying cashew containers on DT 744 caused both to overturn by the roadside, bursting into fierce flames, early morning on 25/3.

Around 3h, a male driver operating a dump truck with a TP HCM license plate was traveling on DT 744 from Dau Tieng towards Thu Dau Mot. Upon reaching the intersection with Ho Chi Minh road, in Thanh An commune, the dump truck collided heavily with a container truck carrying cashews, which had a Dong Nai license plate.

The impact caused the container truck to overturn, spilling tens of tons of cashews onto the road, which then ignited. Residents quickly broke open the doors, pulling the driver and co-driver of the tractor-trailer to safety; both sustained minor injuries.

Due to the high flammability of dry cashews, the flames rapidly escalated, spreading to the dump truck and incinerating both vehicles.

Binh Duong fire and rescue police deployed multiple vehicles to extinguish the blaze. The fire was brought under control after about 30 minutes.

The accident resulted in no fatalities. The cause is under investigation.
