Around 5:45 on 10/1, a 53-year-old female driver, operating a four-seater car, was crossing the Vong intersection overpass towards Giai Phong. Nearing the middle of the bridge, her vehicle struck a motorcycle from Quang Ninh province, operated by a 63-year-old man residing in Hanoi.
After hitting the motorcycle, the car continued to collide with two other vehicles from Hanoi and Thai Nguyen traveling in the same direction. It eventually came to a stop with its front end severely damaged, facing the bridge barrier.

The collision resulted in the immediate death of the motorcyclist. All involved vehicles sustained damage, with debris scattered within a 15 m radius.
To manage the accident scene, police closed the overpass lane, causing traffic congestion in the area during the morning rush hour.
According to representatives from Traffic Police Team 4, Hanoi Traffic Police Department (Hanoi TPD), preliminary findings indicate the accident was caused by the female driver falling asleep and mistakenly pressing the accelerator.
