Beginning the morning of 22/6, access to the traditional house, The Huc bridge, and a section of the Tho Trang amusement park adjacent to the traditional house was restricted by fencing. Guards are present in some areas to direct people to alternative routes.
The fenced-off zone surrounds the suspected mass grave site for fallen soldiers within Le Thi Rieng Park, where exploratory excavation will occur. Authorities will prepare the ground, specialized equipment, and protective tents, with excavations set to commence on 30/6.

Major General Tran Chi Tam, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 7 and Head of Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 7, announced that specialized Team K, responsible for locating and gathering fallen soldiers' remains, will participate in the excavation. Small excavators will initially remove topsoil to approximately one meter deep. Subsequently, experts will manually dig to depths of 1,4 to 1,8 meters. Mechanical work will halt for detailed inspection upon discovery of any unusual signs.
The Ho Chi Minh City Command announced that the exploratory search for remains is in a verification phase, prohibiting public filming at the site. Recording will be exclusively for professional documentation and reports handled by specialized agencies.

The Ho Chi Minh City Command launched a plan at the end of May to locate fallen soldiers' remains, suspecting a mass grave at the former Chi Hoa-Cho Quan cemetery, now Le Thi Rieng Park. This initiative follows information from architect Nguyen Xuan Thang's research group. After collecting witness accounts, cross-referencing documents in workshops, and conducting ground-penetrating radar scans, authorities will begin the search and recovery of soldiers who died during the Mau Than 1968 campaign, starting 30/6.
