Around 7:30 AM, the fire originated in the candle-making warehouse area of Nha tinh thuong Huong La in Luong Tai commune. Within minutes, the blaze intensified and spread to the physiotherapy building.

Nha tinh thuong Huong La provides care for 42 disabled children, supported by 15 nuns. At the time of the incident, 13 nuns and 8 children were present, while the others were either at school or had returned to their hometowns for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations. Upon discovering the fire, the nuns and children were promptly evacuated to safety.

The Bac Ninh Provincial Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department dispatched vehicles and numerous firefighters to combat the blaze. The fire was quickly brought under control, but approximately 80 square meters of the candle-making warehouse structure were destroyed.
