Around 5:40 on 7/1, a fire broke out at a three-story boarding house in Alley 82, Tran Cung Street, Nghia Do Ward. The blaze originated from the kitchen area on the first floor. At the time, 15 people, primarily students and laborers, were living inside.
A 23-year-old student from Quang Ninh, residing on the second floor, recounted hearing shouts while sleeping. "I opened the door to run out, but there was a lot of smoke rising from the first floor, so I ran to a room with a balcony and was brought down using a rope ladder," the student said.

Upon receiving the report, the Hanoi Police Command Center dispatched Fire and Rescue Teams for areas 11 and 2, mobilizing 4 fire trucks and 24 officers to the scene. By the time authorities arrived, residents had already extinguished the blaze using on-site firefighting equipment.
Rescue forces, equipped with protective gear and breathing apparatus, then accessed the upper floors to inspect the scene and collaborated with the landlord to account for all residents.
Due to potential health risks from smoke and toxic gases, the fire commander ordered medical examinations for all 15 occupants. The victims were transported to the Emergency Department at E Hospital for assessment. A hospital representative stated that upon receiving the information, a "red alert" was activated, patients were triaged based on injury severity, and emergency personnel were mobilized. All patients received oxygen support for respiration.

According to Doctor Do Quoc Phong, Deputy Head of the Internal Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning Department, initial triage identified 6 patients with burns ranging from first to 4th-degree. These patients were at risk of severe deterioration, suspected gas poisoning, and eye injuries, and were transferred to the intensive care unit for monitoring and treatment. All cases with potential respiratory tract damage underwent bronchoscopy for airway clearance and injury assessment. Two patients with 3rd- and 4th-degree burns were intubated and placed on ventilators. The remaining individuals presented with mild to moderate symptoms, such as sore throats and first-degree skin burns.
The house where the fire occurred measured approximately 90 square meters. Its first floor housed the kitchen and served as a storage area for numerous vehicles, including gasoline motorcycles, electric motorcycles, and electric bicycles. Following the incident, the house was heavily smoke-stained, and several motorcycles were destroyed by the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.
