Around 6h, a fire ignited on the balcony of an apartment on the 11th floor of Nam An apartment building, situated on Dinh Bo Linh street in Binh Thanh ward. The fire alarm blared, prompting many residents to quickly usher their two young children towards the emergency stairwell. Soon after, thick smoke and flames billowed upwards.
Phuong Thanh, a resident of an 8th-floor apartment, recounted that she was feeding her two children breakfast for school when she heard neighbors shouting outside. She immediately had to evacuate her children. "Everyone rushed out onto the narrow stairwell to get downstairs," she stated.

Numerous fire trucks and over 20 firefighters were dispatched to the scene. A ladder truck, extending over 20 meters, swiftly suppressed the flames. Other firefighters ascended the stairwell to access the fire, bringing it under control within about 15 minutes. While the blaze caused no casualties, it destroyed many belongings.
The incident significantly disrupted traffic on Dinh Bo Linh street, a major artery connecting the Thu Duc area to the city center. The resulting traffic jam stretched for over one kilometer.
