Around 11 a.m., smoke and flames erupted from a shop in Thanh Tung market, quickly spreading to neighboring units and creating a smoke plume tens of meters high.

Thanh Tung market, situated along a riverbank, comprises about 60 kiosks operated by small traders selling a variety of goods. Many of the structures, constructed primarily of wood and corrugated iron, were highly flammable, hindering firefighting efforts. The fire has engulfed almost the entire market area.

Local residents attempted to extinguish the flames but were unsuccessful. Authorities mobilized resources both on land and from the river to combat the blaze. The fire is currently being brought under control.
