The fire erupted from behind the main school building. School security and local residents attempted to extinguish the blaze with mini fire extinguishers, but their efforts were futile. Strong winds quickly spread the flames.

Two fire trucks and dozens of firefighters from the Dak Lak Provincial Police Department arrived at the scene, working from multiple angles to control the fire. The blaze was extinguished after about 10 minutes.
Many sports and physical education equipment items inside the warehouse were destroyed, but there were no casualties. The initial cause was determined to be an electrical short circuit.
