Fire spots appear for several days on concrete yard at resident's home

Small fire spots have repeatedly appeared on a concrete surface in front of a resident's house in Son La during a period of intense heat. Local authorities have requested functional agencies to investigate the cause.

The Yen Chau Commune People's Committee, Son La province, reported an unusual phenomenon noted around 12h on 25/5 in the yard of Mr. Lo Van Mi's house in Ngua village.

In the area in front of the house gate, small flames appeared on the concrete surface, rising about 5 cm high. When burning, they emitted white smoke and left yellow residue. This phenomenon occurred from approximately 12h to 14h on 25/5; from 13h14 to 14h50 on 26/5; from 13h to 15h on 27/5, and continued to appear in early June.

According to the family's report, the fire spots emerged on a section of the concrete yard poured in 11/2025, which is about 40-50 cm thick.

Upon receiving the information, the Yen Chau Commune People's Committee dispatched a working group, including representatives from the Economic Department, Military Command, and Commune Police, to inspect the site and assess the situation. Local authorities also reassured residents and instructed the family to cordon off and barricade the affected area to ensure safety.

The Yen Chau Commune People's Committee noted that the flames are small and have not caused damage or affected residents' lives. However, the cause remains undetermined. The repeated appearance of the flames during intense midday heat has garnered significant public interest in the area.

To clarify the cause, the Yen Chau Commune People's Committee requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct specialized agencies to inspect, verify, and advise on remedial measures. The Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee subsequently assigned the Provincial Police to lead the investigation, coordinating with relevant departments. The inspection results and proposed solutions must be reported to the Provincial People's Committee before 10/6.
