At 12 pm, a crab fishing boat belonging to Hoang Canh, a resident of Ha Thon village in Dong Hoi ward, was moored about 30 meters from the bank of the Nhat Le river alongside several other fishing boats. A fire suddenly erupted from the cabin and quickly spread, sending a plume of smoke dozens of meters high. Nearby fishermen moved their vessels to prevent the fire from spreading.

The Nhat Le Border Guard Station dispatched 10 officers and soldiers with a specialized canoe to the scene. The Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department of the provincial Police Department also mobilized two fire trucks, a water pump truck, and numerous firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

By 1:10 pm, the fire was under control and had not spread to other vessels. However, the fishing boat, valued at approximately 2 billion VND, suffered extensive damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
