Around 9:45 a.m., a Hanoi-registered limousine traveling on the Phap Van-Cau Gie expressway towards Ninh Binh collided with a tanker truck traveling in the same direction near the Phu Thu intersection in Ninh Binh province. The limousine, significantly damaged and turned sideways, was then hit by an oncoming pickup truck.

Unable to avoid the accident, a 30-seat passenger bus crashed through the right-side guardrail and went off the expressway.
At the scene, the limousine was overturned and completely mangled. About 20 meters away, the 30-seat bus was stuck on the slope between the expressway and a local road. Several injured people were taken to the hospital.
Traffic on the Phap Van-Cau Gie expressway was backed up for more than two kilometers. The Traffic Police Department is currently managing traffic flow and investigating the scene.
The Hanoi-Ninh Binh (or Cau Gie-Ninh Binh) expressway is approximately 50 km long, with 4 lanes, 2 emergency stopping lanes, and speed limits ranging from 60 km/h to 120 km/h.
