On 29/4, around 2 PM, a fire broke out at the Sam Well Furniture Co., Ltd. factory, located in Tan Binh Industrial Park, Vinh Tan ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The blaze originated in the finished product manufacturing section. Due to the presence of highly flammable materials such as wood, packaging, and chemicals inside the facility, the fire spread rapidly and was accompanied by multiple explosions.
Workers and security personnel at the factory immediately attempted to control the fire using on-site extinguishing systems, including fire extinguishers, sprinklers, and wall hydrants. However, their efforts were unsuccessful. Thick black smoke billowed high into the sky, forcing numerous individuals to evacuate the premises.
The Ho Chi Minh City Fire Police quickly responded, deploying 7 vehicles and 41 officers. They coordinated with 8 ward police officers to combat the blaze. After more than one hour of intense firefighting, the inferno was largely brought under control.
Fortunately, there were no human casualties reported. However, the entire 4,000 square meter workshop and all its assets were completely destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage are currently under investigation. Sam Well Furniture Co., Ltd. had leased the workshop for both manufacturing and storage purposes.
