21 rest stops operational on expressway from Ha Noi to Ca Mau

Travelers can now access essential services at 21 rest and vehicle stops along the North-South Expressway, just in time for the 30/4-1/5 holiday.

The Vietnam Road Administration announced the opening of 21 rest stops and vehicle stops along the North-South Expressway from Ha Noi to Ca Mau, providing crucial services for the public during the upcoming 30/4-1/5 holiday. These facilities aim to ensure continuous and safe travel across the entire route.

Five rest stops are already fully operational on the North-South Expressway from Ha Noi to Can Tho. These include Gie - Ninh Binh, Cao Bo - Mai Son (Xuan Kiem on the left side of the route, Xuan Cuong on the right side of the route), La Son - Hoa Lien (left side of the route), TP HCM - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, and TP HCM - Trung Luong. Additionally, one vehicle stop on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway is also operational, meeting basic needs for rest, refueling, and essential services for travelers.

To cater to the high demand during the holiday period while permanent facilities are still under development, 15 temporary stops have been opened. These temporary facilities offer essential public services and are distributed along various sections: Mai Son - National Highway 45, Nghi Son - Dien Chau, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, and southern sections like Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, and Can Tho - Ca Mau.

Four of these temporary stops are equipped with gas stations, located at Mai Son - National Highway 45, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung, and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet. These are vital refueling points for those undertaking long journeys across the country.

In parallel with these immediate solutions, the Vietnam Road Administration has selected investors to construct 21 permanent rest stops on the eastern section of the North-South Expressway. Investors are currently finalizing procedures and beginning construction, with basic completion anticipated in 2026. These new facilities will further enhance the travel experience.

The recent opening of nearly 220 km of expressway through Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak provinces, along with the 73 km Can Tho - Ca Mau section on the afternoon of 29/4, has completed the connection of the entire North-South Expressway from Ha Noi to Ca Mau. With an average of one stop every 100 km, alongside interchanges and nearby services like gas stations and eateries, the expressway system now supports continuous and safe travel for all users.
