Hanoi City Police announced on 1/7 that administrative violations in road traffic safety and order, detected by AI camera systems, will now be processed using two methods. Citizens have the option to either visit the headquarters of traffic police teams directly or handle violations electronically via the iHanoi application, which offers significant savings in time and costs.

This new digital process begins when the system detects a violation. It then sends a notification, including detailed information and images of the infraction, to the vehicle owner through the iHanoi application. Violators can access the "Traffic - Cold Fine Notifications" section within the app to review their specific violation details.
If the citizen agrees with the provided violation information and images, they can confirm the end-to-end violation directly on the system. Following this confirmation, the police agency will issue an administrative violation record and transmit it to the violator via the application. The violator is then required to check and cross-reference the information, digitally sign the record, and submit it back through iHanoi.
Subsequently, the police agency issues an administrative penalty decision, which is also sent to the violator on the system. Citizens can review this decision and proceed to pay the fine using a QR code. Upon successful payment, the system will display the payment receipt and automatically update the record. Traffic police will then issue a decision to return any seized exhibits or vehicles and remove the suspension notice for vehicle registration inspection for automobiles.
The Hanoi Traffic Police Department reported that the city launched its Traffic Control Center in 12/2025. This center integrates with over 1,800 AI cameras capable of monitoring and detecting violations across city streets. The Center's AI analysis server system is synchronized with both the road motor vehicle management system and the national population database. This advanced integration empowers traffic police to efficiently detect violations, identify vehicle owners, and process end-to-end infractions entirely within the electronic environment.
