According to an official document issued on 28/8 by the Hanoi People's Committee (HPC), many organizations and individuals have recently flown objects such as balloons, sky lanterns, and flying toys, as well as operated unauthorized drones. These activities have affected security and flight safety for the Air Defense-Air Force Service, which is currently conducting flight rehearsals for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (A80).

On 28/8, 30/8, 31/8, and 2/9, the Air Defense-Air Force Service will continue flight rehearsals and participate in the official celebrations. To ensure safety and security, the city has requested relevant agencies to publicize regulations concerning unmanned aerial vehicles and ultralight aircraft. These regulations prohibit the production, import, storage, transport, trade, lighting, and release of sky lanterns.
The Hanoi Capital Command has been tasked with instructing local defense commands to notify organizations and individuals to temporarily suspend the operation of all unmanned aerial vehicles and other aircraft that have been licensed by the Operations Department of the General Staff. They will also coordinate with relevant agencies to suppress and confiscate any violating UAVs.
Hanoi police have been instructed to increase patrols and inspections to promptly detect, prevent, and coordinate strict handling of activities involving the buying, selling, and flying of kites, balloons, flying toys, and the lighting and release of sky lanterns.
On 2/9, Vietnam will hold a ceremony and parade in Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (A80). The parade will involve nearly 16,000 participants, including 43 marching blocks, 18 stationary blocks, and 14 blocks of military and special forces vehicles and artillery, representing all branches of the military and police, including ground, mechanized, air, and naval forces.
