Starting at 10 PM on 1/9, hours of heavy rain caused streams to swell, overflowing into homes. Dinh Trong Dai, a resident of Da Huoai commune, had to wake up in the middle of the night to move his belongings, with many items and appliances submerged in water.

On provincial road 721, which passes through the center of the commune, floodwaters reached depths of 0.5-0.7 meters, making travel difficult. By the morning of 2/9, many low-lying areas remained flooded. Authorities assisted residents in moving their belongings and livestock to safety.

According to Luu Hong Long, chairman of the People's Committee of Da Huoai commune, at least four landslides occurred on the road connecting to the old Da Ton commune. Trees and debris blocked the road, disrupting traffic. Local authorities mobilized machinery to clear the road throughout the night and posted warning signs for residents.
The heavy rain also caused flooding in several areas of Da Teh 2 commune.
