Vehicles queued for a long distance through the 400 m long Phan Thuc Duyen underpass. Many motorbikes had to squeeze through gaps between oto to move. The Phan Thuc Duyen underpass connects Hoang Van Thu street, in the Phu Nhuan and Tan Binh areas, leading to Terminal 3.

The volume of vehicles intensified as the afternoon progressed, causing congestion to worsen.

The road alongside the Phan Thuc Duyen underpass, where vehicles turn left towards the Lang Cha Ca roundabout, was also heavily packed.

Several police teams were stationed at intersections to regulate traffic and alleviate congestion.

Vehicles moved slowly on Truong Son street, the main thoroughfare to the airport.

Tan Son Nhat airport is currently experiencing its peak operational period for the National Day holiday. On 28/8, the airport handled 735 passenger flights, serving over 121,000 passengers for both arrivals and departures, primarily on domestic routes. The overall holiday forecast predicts Tan Son Nhat will operate an average of 780 flights daily, accommodating approximately 130,000 passengers. The busiest day, 2/9, is expected to see about 800 flights and 135,000 passengers.

Meanwhile, the roads leading to and from Terminal 3 were clear. Starting on 28/8, the internal road of International Terminal 2 was connected to Domestic Terminal 1.
